A FILM BY DERMOT LOUGHLIN

A Belfast Minute

A small portrait of a city that never performs for the camera. Rain on glass, late buses, familiar faces.

Belfast is rarely quiet, but it has quiet moments. This film collects a few of them: shutters rising, a bus disappearing around a wet corner, and strangers briefly sharing the same light.

Shot over three early mornings with a pocket camera and no plan beyond paying attention.

FROM THE NOTEBOOK
“The best frame happened while I was waiting for a bus to leave the shot.”
— Dermot, probably standing in the rain

Made me want to go outside in weather I would normally complain about.

That is the nicest possible outcome. Bring a coat.
